Hi, I'm Paula.
I’ve spent over 13 years working inside charities and universities on everything from fundraising and donor operations to data and strategy. I’ve built fundraising programmes from scratch, trained teams across multiple countries, managed complex databases of up to 600,000 records and run major donor programmes with deep individual relationships. I’ve sorted out CRMs no one wanted to touch and shaped fundraising strategies that actually work.

I’ve worked in small, grassroots charities and inside big advancement offices with 30+ staff. I know how it feels when you’re juggling everything at once and need someone who just gets it.
My background is in sociology and nonprofit management. I understand how charities work and why they exist. Flow is where I bring that together.

MSc in NGO Management from Bayes Business School
Developed strategies that helped small charities grow from £19k to over £100k annual income
Led Advancement operations at Newcastle University, where my data and research procedures were peer reviewed as best in class
Supported charities through transitions and growth phases.
Built and managed fundraising pipelines worth over £300k
Managed CRMs from 10,000 to over 600,000 constituent records.

Not just a consultant but a partner who gets it
Most of the organisations I work with are small teams doing important work, often with limited time, budget and capacity. You’re juggling delivery, fundraising, comms and admin – and there’s rarely space to step back, untangle what’s not working, and make a proper plan.

That’s where Flow comes in. I help identify the problems you might not have time to define, then work with you to put things right. Whether it’s your fundraising, data or internal systems, you can leave it with me to figure out what’s needed and see it through.

The Flow Substack covers the practical side of things: fundraising, data, systems and the occasional thought piece based on what we’re seeing day to day.

We also post regularly on LinkedIn, where you’ll find more up to date content: sector news, fundraising reports, product recommendations, events and anything else we think is worth a look.
